It's nice to be able to cook dogs, burgers, steaks or whatever on it. Have to make sure you let the fire burn down to coals first. You may think you don't have enough coals to cook anything, but let me tell you, you have more than enough. Star design on side is pretty cool. Have used it a few times so far and everything is good. Easy to put together too. Built pretty solid. Not flimsy. I have Amazon Prime so this 53 lb pit was delivered in 2 days for free!! Assembly was relatively simple. Two us put it together in about 30 minutes. I have the pit on my stamped concrete back patio. I bought some 4"x8" pavers at Home Depot and made a small paver patio on top of the concrete patio to ensure the fire/heat did not damage the concrete. The paver patio looks nice but probably was not necessary. I put about 40lbs (the directions said 10-15 lbs) of sand in the bottom of the pit and the sand absorbs most of the heat keep the bottom of the pit relatively cool. Even with 40 lbs of sand in it there is A LOT of room for wood. The wheels on the pit work well on concrete if you want to move the pit in and out of a shed or garage. The poker that comes with the pit is heavy duty and the hook on the end works well for moving/lifting the logs. The only major change the would be nice is if the hinged spark screen opened from...
